Soline Canovas
Artiste peintre
Soline Canovas spent her childhood in her family’s painting studios. After studying at the Ecole Camondo, she starts her career with Blas Canovas, her father, who designed fabrics for Balenciaga, Jacques Fath, Bianchini-Férier…
Very soon she is in charge of collections working along Manuel Canovas, Rubelli and Pierre Frey.
Soline Canovas has been painting for many years and has been attending Christian Zeimert’s workshop since 1986.
She chooses a figurative and contemporary style to express herself and finds inspiration in her roots, classic Spanish painting and despite an apparent realism leads us to a dreamlike and mysterious world.
Still-lives, cliffs, landscapes and understated birds’ drawings with bright and subtle colours are part of an emotional register, combining ascetism and poetry.
Soline Canovas holds regular exhibits in Paris and Varengeville.
